Brad is a retired executive from Hewlett-Packard. His 40+ year career included over 18 different senior Financial and Business Operations assignments across a wide range of the Company’s business segments and product innovation centers.
Throughout Brad’s career, he was a recognized financial & business leader who was often tapped to help lead significant business turnarounds and high profile new strategic growth initiatives. He and his global teams were responsible for driving the development and implementation of business, financial, and performance management strategies and systems that supported achieving new levels of business and operational success. Recognized for his unique background and experience in helping successfully manage high technology businesses throughout every stage of the business and innovation life cycle, Brad’s leadership was part of the winning formula that helped HP become one of the world’s most admired information technology companies in the world. Brad retired from Hewlett-Packard in 2015 as its Worldwide Director of Business Operations and Program Management for HP’s Cloud and Automation Business. Following his retirement from Hewlett-Packard, Brad was awarded an Encore Executive Fellowship grant and in 2016 became Interim Executive Director for ZERO1, an international art and technology network.
Brad’s passion for Social Venture Creation and Innovation started in 2002 when he sponsored a multidisciplinary (Industrial Design, Engineering, and Business) program at San Jose State University focused on developing innovative new ideas to help address the increasing challenge of the world’s “Digital Divide”. He has subsequently developed a body of work centered on innovation lifecycle leadership and a framework for helping social entrepreneurs and leaders achieve greater success in their social venture creation and innovation work. In 2014, Brad founded the Social Venture Café; a private social venture focused on advocating, incubating, and supporting social venture start-ups aimed at serving our community’s most pressing social needs and challenges in new and innovative ways.
In addition to being the Founder of the Social Venture Café, Brad has been actively engaged in a wide range of public and nonprofit sector programs and organizations, including; The San Jose Social Innovation Institute (Co-founder), San Jose State University’s Social Innovation Leadership Forum (Co-creator), SJSU’s Global Leadership Advancement Center Social Innovation Initiative (Executive in Residence), SJSU College of Business-Dean’s Global Advisory (Board member), ZERO1:The Art and Technology Network (Past Interim Executive Director and current Board member), Art Escape (Board member) and the Center for Employment Training/CET in San Jose (past Board member and CEO Strategic Planning and Transformation Advisor).
Brad lives in Sonoma, California, has been married for 49+ years, has two sons, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration: Accounting concentration, from San Jose State University.
